In 1974, something terrifying began happening to cattle across the Nebraska countryside. Fifty years later, a Diet Coke-fueled late-night radio host returns to the story, broadcasting live as she investigates the mystery from a trailer in the middle of nowhere. What begins as a deep dive into alien conspiracies, rural folklore, and mutilated cows slowly spirals into something stranger, funnier, and far more dangerous. The Overnight is a one-woman drag horror play about loneliness, fear, and reaching into the unknown.
ADAM PULVER is an LA-based writer and drag performer. He has written over 20 plays, including THE NEBRASKA CYCLE, ten plays set in the rural Midwest; THE SEASIDE CYCLE, four plays about love, loss, and mythical creatures; THE PRAIRIE CYCLE, three adaptations of Willa Cather novels; and IT PROBABLY DOESN’T MATTER, a horror play about modern hookup apps.
For television, A.P. was a staff writer on FOX’s scripted dance dramedy THE BIG LEAP, and is currently developing several original pilots: CRAVE, about an elite West Hollywood sex club; THE GOOD LIFE, about a retired farmer who moonlights as a drag queen; and BIG ISLAND AQUATICS, about employees at a struggling aquarium supply store. He spent eight years as Literary Manager and Dramaturg for the Seven Devils National Playwrights Conference, supporting new plays that have gone on to productions worldwide.
When he isn’t writing, A.P. performs as his better half, Superior Nebrasska, in drag shows throughout LA. BFA: NYU/Tisch, MFA: Hunter College.
