Trans Scribe: A Story About Subtitles (The Vault)

🍝

🍝 〰️

Subtitles are a regular part of life for over 50 percent of US adults, but do any of us ever think about how those captions came to be?

What’s the difference between “indistinct chatter” and noise? Why does one character “giggle” while another “laughs”? And why are they just so wrong sometimes?

Enor Bishop has the answers. Trans Scribe is a solo comedy show about closed captioning, accessibility and transformation.

Directed by Kelly Reilly

Enor Bishop is a writer and comedian originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. They host Boys Night Out, a monthly LA comedy show and recently taped their first standup half-hour at the Lyric Hyperion.
