SOMETHING SPOOKY

🎃👻

🎃👻

An evening of true spooky stories, immersive horror thrills, comedians, a paranormal investigation, prizes, shadow puppets, live soundtrack, and scare actors!  And to get into the theater you go through a scary haunted entrance! Then join us for a Halloween after-party with a bar, snacks, and make sure to dress up for the COSTUME CONTEST to win killer prizes!

Why now? Because the world is out of control and we need to freak out in a safe space for the therapeutic value of being scared aka SCARE-APY! We need to laugh, scream, and feel like kids again. Even if it’s just for one night.

It’s a good cause! It’s a fundraiser for The Elysian Theater, so they can continue their mission to foster and promote experimental and transgressive new work from established and emerging artists.

SOMETHING SPOOKY is created by Jon Schnitzer the director / producer of the dark comedy horror documentary HAUNTERS The Art Of The Scare that BuzzFeed called “...fun, yet terrifying." As co-owner of The Brain Factory Jon produced immersive horror experiences for Tim Burton and President Obama’s 1st Halloween party at The White House.

Lineup:

Comedian / Host Jon Schnitzer will share stories about his grandmother’s imaginary friend who turned out to be... not so imaginary!

Paranormal Investigator Monica Leal will share her favorite investigations and video clips that will chill your bones.

Comedian Mark Vigeant has award winning comedy shows Best Man Show and Out There.  The Hollywood Reporter called Out There “Hilarious audience participation, and a ton of vulnerability.” Mark is bringing a taste of Out There, but with a SPOOKY TWIST!

Composer Alexander Burke has played on stage with Bob Dylan, composed the soundtrack to HAUNTERS and will play a live spooky soundtrack throughout the night.

Comedian Andrew Farmer co-hosts Scary Stories to Tell on the Pod, described by Vulture as “hilarious, impressive & weird”. Andrew has a very spooky solo show called I DON’T WANNA SCARE YOU, but he does, and he will, with a new scary story.

Comedian Erin Callahan will transform into the CHANGELING, a demonic fairy that ruins everything while making you laugh so hard!

Comedian Bethany Michaels' shares a haunting story from her childhood!

Haunter Donald Julson known for making the weapons in Van Helsing and for being a passionate home haunter in the documentary HAUNTERS will design our haunted entrance and surprises during the show that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!

Comedian Jenn Scott will make you scream and laugh! In November she heads to NYC Comedy Fest with her hit solo comedy show CHAT.

Scare Actor Adam Shows has made you scream at The 17th door, Sinister Pointe, The IT Experience and many more. He combines folk art with dark fantasy creating his own masks out of paper mache.

Scare Actor Dr. London Smith is a contortionist so flexible it’s spooky.

Shadow Puppets by Ricky Chavez! He’s directed Sabrina Carpenter and you’ve seen his incredible puppet shows all over LA.

Legendary Scare Actor Shar Mayer does voice acting in SOMETHING SPOOKY that you’re never gonna forget.

Scare Actor Leslie Simon made us all scream at Monsterpalooza, and Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights.

You’ve seen the work of our incredibly talented makeup FX team is American Horror Story, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, Deadpool… Chelsea Tapia, Mary Monster, Caroline Moore, and Yvonne Boyiazis.
