Embalming Play

🍝

What happens when you die? Well, I can’t speak for the soul, but as far as what happens to your corpse, I’ve got you covered. ‘Embalming Play’ accompanies several decedents (dead people) as their physical bodies embark on the necessary journey from clinical death to their final resting place. It’s just another day in the prep room, only today, a new apprentice learns the ropes. The audience functions as an embalming apprentice learning the tricks of the trade as a new mortician: donning and doffing PPE, mixing chemicals, maneuvering and lifting literal dead weight, and of course, much much more. They learn not only the art of embalming itself, but are briefed on the various formative - and existential - experiences of being an embalmer.

This show is restricted to ages 18+.
