Voice Class: The Warm-up (2-days)

Performing without warming up is like driving across town on your last gallon of gas. Save yourself the stress!

If you’re a clown, actor, standup, or public speaker of any kind, you deserve to give yourself the gift of a warm body and voice. A thorough warmup not only helps prevent physical & vocal injuries, it can also help you be more alert, more spontaneous, and more playful onstage and on set. It counteracts the autonomic nervous system responses that can lead to stage fright, dry mouth, tremors, excess physical tension, etc. It allows you to access your full power as a performer.

This two-day workshop is for anyone looking for a consistent warmup practice, or whose current warmup needs a boost. We will learn a variety of physical and vocal exercises aimed at relaxation, body organization, vocal resonance, volume/projection, and articulation & clarity. These can be combined in many different ways to give you an effective warmup that can be as short as 5 minutes or as long as 30, depending on your needs. You'll leave this active, engaging, and fun class with practical, malleable tools to support and sustain your performance.
