Elysian Class: Clowning On Camera (6 week)

Hey—it’s our first Virtual class! Open to all!

Making alt comedy and outsider art for the stage and interested in building your on-camera portfolio? Spin your clown bits, performance art, and other avant-garde ideas into some indie cinema! In this 6 week ONLINE workshop, actor/filmmaker Linas Phillips will guide you through a series of exercises with the goal of creating an experimental short film or video art piece. Sessions will include writing prompts, improv, live zoom recording, and using found footage to build a dreamy visual vocabulary that represents your unique vision. Students will be expected to make video work outside of class on their personal iPhones or cameras. There will be dedicated time to share excerpts and get feedback on their work in each session. The class will culminate in a screening of everyone's work at the Elysian!
