A two-day intensive for performers seeking to grow their dance and movement vocabulary in their devised work. If you’re dreaming of weaving a show-stopping musical number into your piece, or are trying to elevate your physical expressivity and move your body in new ways, this class is for you. All experience levels welcome.

You’ll walk away with a renewed sense of confidence in your dance skills and a toolbox of movement vocabulary to help unlock new ideas. We’ll begin with exercises that help you physicalize your character or embody your ideas, and finish each day with hands-on solo work to help fine tune your language, so that you can create numbers grounded in pleasure, joy, and diverse expression. This class includes 1:1 time with Isabella to consult on any upcoming work.

About the Instructor

Isabella Kulkarni is a reformed ballerina turned journalist turned clown turned movement director. She has danced with Boston Ballet and Pilobolus Dance Theater, and has done her share of flash mobs and intensives. She choreographs regularly for Freak Nature Puppets as and is a movement director and consultant for other performers and musicians in Los Angeles.
