The Elysian is a nonprofit theater on the Eastside of Los Angeles that supports innovative performers devising original and unconventional live comedy, performance art, and theater. With seven nights a week of programming, new works festivals, creative development, classes and workshops, the Elysian is home to an eclectic and diverse community unified by a yearning for experimentation, where new artists are fostered in their process and established artists can push themselves to take creative risks.

  • VISION: Our vision is to contribute to the landscape of performing artists, helping them discover and strengthen their voice. We want our theater to be an exciting and inclusive space where audiences want to stay awhile, and can expect to walk in any night of the week to see unfiltered and unsanitized hilarity, along with gutsy, galling, emotive, surprising stuff. A theater of yes over no, where there will be hits and there may be misses, but never boredom.

AGE LIMIT: Shows are all ages, but please be aware that many shows incorporate 18+ content and language. Attend shows at your own discretion, and please email hello@elysiantheater.com if you have any questions about a particular show.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY: The performance room is wheelchair accessible; however, The Elysian does not have wheelchair accessible bathrooms at this time. The stage can be made wheelchair accessible with advance notice.

STANDBY TICKETS: We begin a standby list 30 minutes prior to showtime for sold out performances. By showtime (or 10-15 minutes after), we will inform the standby list if we can get them in seated or standing room. Though there is no guarantee, we try to get most people in!
